…Of footsteps, laughter, running.  Stairways and doorways have always been symbolic of transition.  In Egypt, the iset-step was a symbol of Isis. The tall step was only to be used by the gods.  In dream dictionaries, the symbolic meaning of stairs is that one is reaching a conclusion about an issue.
