Made to Order

Just because it is made to order does not mean it has to be expensive.  Some of the items in our shop are made to order.  There is no additional price to the one shown if you are ordering something already designed. 

Some things are just worth waiting for….

There is an obvious waiting time for things that are made to order.  This is usually around 4 – 8 weeks depending on the complexity and the time of year.  Once you have ordered something we will contact you to give you an estimated completion time.  We know there is nothing worse than waiting and not being told….. So we will keep you updated about the progress of your order. 

When it arrives you can enjoy it, knowing that is was made especially for you and that it is something that is handmade in small quantities.

Commissions…

One way to guarantee that you have an absolutely unique piece is to make a commission.  We are able to take on commissions and design something you have in mind.  The process for commissioning a piece of work is;

• Contact us and tell us what you have in mind, you can send us rough sketches,  photos, write a description etc. 
• We will in turn call or email you to talk about your idea, your deadline, the materials you are interested in etc and then provide an approximate quote.
• If you are content with the quote and want to go ahead with the commission the next stage is to take your idea to the design studio.  This is where we work up the idea and produce usually three or four versions for you to consider.  This process is to capture exactly what you are looking for and make sure it is workable and will not fall apart or break.
• Once you have approved your design it will go to the workshop and be produced.  The design will remain yours and we will not make additional numbers (unless you require them).

Costs

You incur no costs and make no commitments when talking to us about your initial ideas.  Once we have provided an approximate quote you have the absolute right to pursue or stop the commission. 

The cost for the design studio work is £50.  This is payable when you indicate you wish us to prepare some designs for you.  Three or four designs will be developed and each will be more closely costed.  If you at this stage do not wish to progress to production, the designs are yours and you incur no further costs.

It  may take several conversations to make sure you are completely happy with the design. Once you are happy and sign off the design, the final price is agreed and paid.  The design goes to the workshop and you will be informed how long it will take to complete your commission.
